There is no standing still. If you aren't moving forward, you're falling backward.

I have made my own obstacles. I must tear them down. I got this from an article in Shape about weight loss. I will make a list (oh how I love making lists)(<--seriously, I do) of reasons why I think I cannot and another list of how to overcome them. btw, the article didn't help too much for its intended purpose. The most useful thing I got out of it was a quote from the woman who lost 102 pounds: I remind myself that I don't have to keep eating. There will be more food in a couple hours.
I did not eat from stress today either. It's too private and emotional to blog but that is truly an accomplishment for me especially this day. That is the most horrible thing I've done in my adult life. Necessary, but horrible. Moving on. As I do.
Part III deals with confronting deep rooted psychological blah blah blah . . . I don't know why I think I will fail. But I do know that's why I'm afraid to try. I don't confront anything; I usually go for pushing it down deeper and pushing something else down on top of it so it will never have to see the light of day. Which comes in right between my ears. I will however follow through instead of being irrational.
I have horrible grammar. And has anyone noticed my attention span problem? No focus. Oh wait, that's what I started to write about. My lack of focus and the rest of the world accomplishing all sorts of things I thought once upon a time I would be doing. Clarification: This isn't a pity party. It's a kick my own ass into motion party.

Perspective
Someone I know has a very ill child. Last night they had to rush to the ER (he's fine, well his definition of fine at this point, they got to come back home), and his mother was commenting that she had overheard a man on the phone. Telling his wife he'd be back very late(calmly), they had just been pushed back a place. It does make you think about perspectives as she pointed out. How many of us have ever been grateful to have to wait in the ER? That kind of thankfulness doesn't often occur to us until we're the ones who desperately need to be rushed to the front of the line.

Facebook Anonymous
my sister found facebook. She's addicted.
OH and even though the interested parties don't read this. I did look up C.C. who does indeed exist.

January 7, 2009 a.k.a the 1st day of the rest of my life
I just wanted to make sure I suckered you into reading this after my long absence. The list behind the presumptuous title:
1. To breathe without wheezing
2. I like singing. I will never have the voice I could have after 14 years of self inflicted harm; but I'm hoping to rule out emphysema and still kick it to stick it on karoake night.
3. To run faster and harder
4. Fear of making orphans of my children and a widower of my husband
5. Cancer sucks
6. Freedom from Addiction
7. Clearer skin, less wrinkles, and overall retaining some sort of youthfulness
8. To save my sense of smell
9. I won't have to cook with so many spices to taste the fabulous dishes I prepare
10. my teeth
The creation of that list also led to a "bucket list" of sorts. I had a similar list, but I like the deadline on a bucket list better. (I know, but I'm cracking myself up here)
-run a marathon
-write a novel
-write and illustrate a graphic novel
-gallery representation
-snowboard
Travel Bucket List
-Ireland
-Scotland
-England
-Italy
-New Zealand
-West coast, USA
-New Orleans
-NYC
